The Three Brothers is the oldest residential complex in Riga. It is located on the street Little Castle 17, 19, 21 (Maza Pils). The name "Three Brothers" appeared on the similarity with the "three sisters" of the city of Tallinn. The oldest surviving residential building in Riga is located at Little Castle 15 (Maza Pils 15), it is built in the late 15th century, when Riga has established contacts with merchants from the Netherlands and the architecture of the city began to appear characteristic of the architectural elements of the renaissance of the Netherlands. Before the house there is a small playground with a porch with stone steps. In the house there is a pointer to a stone, which forged the right of property, which was the address of the house.
All three houses together are called "Three Brothers", each house is of different periods of construction of dwelling houses of the Middle Ages, when homes were built on small plots of land. Three brothers were restored in 1955 - 1957's by the architect P. Saulisha. All homes have been combined. In the walls were bricked stone portals of houses that no longer exists, the oldest coat of arms of Riga with a burned-out warehouse army weapons, the coat of arms of the owner of one of the Three Brothers, which indicates that the owner was a baker, as can be seen on the arms. In 1687 the first bakery started to work first in Riga. Now the building on the street 17 M.Pils is a Museum of Architecture in Latvia. The White House is one of the oldest stone buildings in Riga, built in the 15th century. On the facade of the building houses carved signs, emblems and figure compositions, the latter were supposed to protect the house from evil spirits and bring good luck. In these houses lived artisans and merchants. There are forms of visible facades of the Dutch and Belgian themes. The family occupied the first floor, and situated above the stores. The goods were also stored in the basement, but Waldemar argues that the city was frequented by floods and to keep the property he made the windows of the upper floors small, and also because there was a special tax on the light from the windows. The building was arched pediment in the Baroque style, small rooms are arranged on each floor.
