Namibia

Namibia is one of the least polluted countries in the world. The sand dunes, the old craters and waterfalls make Namibia one of the cleanest places in the world. Its landscapes seem untouched by human intervention. The name of this South African State comes from the Namib desert, where we meet the largest number of cheetahs (approx. 2,500) protected species in this area. Namibia is a place of contrasts. You can enjoy a safari to the magical space of the desert and the Atlantic Ocean, the spectacular red dunes to the Skeleton coast wild and Etosha National Reserve.

The Namib Desert

The Namib Desert is a unique place, having no analogues in the world on the uniqueness and beauty. " The Oceanic Desert ' was born of the proximity of the incoming flow of the Antarctic cold and the hot sun of Africa. For decades, there is no rain. Endemic plants have adapted to an amazing climate and no shortage of moisture: the predawn dew and the fog of night keep them enough not to die. Among them - the famous velvichiya, a tree with a trunk, rising above the ground of 3 cm, has 5-foot leaves. The age of these trees is of several hundred years. The Namib Desert runs along the Atlantic coast from the border with South Africa in the south to the border with Angola in the north for 1900 km strip of 80 km to 200 km wide. Almost all 49 768 sq km grounds is a series of parks and reserves. Walvis Bay Town and Swakopmund divide the district into two sections – the north National Park "Skeleton Coast" and the south National Park "Namib Naukluft.

Despite the fact that the attributes of civilization can now be found everywhere, there are still parts of our Earth, where the impact is small. Namibia is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world. This South African country gained its name from the Namib Desert, and it is a habitat for the largest number of cheetahs - about 2,500 members, or a quarter of the total population of cheetahs. This is also the only country whose constitution provides for the maintaining of its ecosystem.
