Founded in 1890, Yosemite National Park located 4 hours drive east of San Francisco, has 2,400 square miles of wilderness in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The park is particularly known for landscape and giant sequoia trees are 2500-3000 years old, with a diameter of up to 11 feet and 75-90 feet tall, gorgeous mountains and wildlife, is usually crowded in the months summer and almost deserted in winter, when temperatures are lower.
Largest sequoia forests and the highest found in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in southern Sierra Nevada. Many mature sequoias is here in the park in three forests: Mariposa Grove, Tuolumne Grove and Merced Grove. Of these, Mariposa Grove, located mostly in south park is the largest known for giants fact the Wawona Tunnel Tree and Grizzly.
The park is huge, you need to visit some good days, being able to choose the location where you want to be hosted here and find a wide variety of accommodation from luxury hotels to rustic cabins, and for those who like an adventure tent is ideal.
Yosemite has 13 campsites in the park and Lower Pines, North Pines, Upper Pines and Sunnyside Walk-in inside the Yosemite Valley and outside it is Bridalveil Creek, Crane Flat, Hodgdon Meadow, Porcupine Flat, Tamarack Flat Tuolumne Meadows, Wawona, White Wolf and Yosemite Creek.
Yosemite National Park is the fact the house has 300-500 bears black Americans, but it is only a few blacks, most of them have a variety of colors from brown to black and even blond. Black bears are omnivorous, eating almost anything, spending almost all day, searching the grass and trees by seeds, larvae, fruits and insects, but, unfortunately, many bears were used to steal food from tourists arrive here. Park Service began an intensive campaign of research, to educate tourists from campsites on wildlife feeding, storing food debris, reducing incidents of bears. Spring and autumn are ideal times to visit, but winter is winter sports: skiing, skating, sleigh rides.
