  On the east coast of Cyprus lies the fantastic town of Paralimni, bordered by the ghost town called Famagusta. It is a small town, knowing the fastest development. The new shop units are spreaded along the main highway, with big investments on holiday property which continue to grow more and more. The town centre runs for about three miles from the coast, with the periphery which  suffered substantial development during the time, including the addition of the luxury apartments. The town centre is a charming place which enchants  tourists with special features. It includes a beautiful square governed by the church and a new impossant plaza situated across the road and completed with a majestic fountain. The centre’s square is bounded by chic cafes, lovely bars and traditional tavernas, where you can spend the best moments of your life, the ambiance being charming and peaceful. Like an additional therapy to this enchanting place  the excellent boutiques come, the trendy shoe shops, which mark the best destination in the city, for the shopping lovers. The streets of Paralimni are tiny and unfashionable, veiled in a timelessness air. Here the locals and the tourists can spend the nice Cyprus afternoons taking a drink and playing backgammon, surrounded by exclusive pavement cafes. Behind the town’s square is situated the city hall which has been transformed into the perfect venue for wedding ceremonies.

 

 

  The spectacular town of Paralimni is the smallest one in Famagusta. Despite the fact that the near villages are left and empty during the winter, Paralimni continues to prosper and attract a large number of tourists who remain deeply surprised by the originality and authenticity of the town. Since the occupation of the Turkish armies, from 1974, the town of Paralimni got its significant role, transformed into the administrative center of the district. Its perfect location in the central island implies very high temperature during the summer months. The small town is veiled into a mysterious and enigmatic atmosphere.

 

There  are great restaurants in Paralimni, with an old one which claims to exists almost as the town exists. The visitors can choose to eat in the fast foods or taste from the delicious pizza. Eating in the town is cheaper than in the holiday resorts, and you can get to taste from the traditional Cypriot cuisine. No doubt that the visitors will wish to try the local delicacy, known as ambelopoulia, which represents a delicious pickled songbird which is eaten entirely. However this delicacy is illegal.

 

Paralimni is a really accessible destination, very close to the amazing Ayia Napa. The locals are famous for their gorgeous gardens, rich in colourful flowers and beautiful plants, because they involve a lot of energy to create such a splendid natural attraction. On the northern side of Paralimni is situated the village of Varosha, which is a melancholic reminder of the Cyprus’s political troubles. In the eastern side the tourist will be surprised by the incredible and best Cyprus’ beaches and the most exciting nightlife.

 

Choose this site for your recreation and offer to yourself the opportunity to admire the best natural landscapes of the island. It has not so much to offer but Paralimni has veritable attractions, fascinating the tourist through its melancholic ambiance, with its narrow streets and interesting structures. The accommodations in the holiday resort are quite comfortable and offer a simplity that is truly magnificent. For such a small city Paralimni has a strange ghostly feeling, because of the proximity of the Famagusta. Anyway the town is treasured and famous and opens picturesque landscapes and remarkable memories to the tourists.
