Thorsmork is one of the greatest wonders of Iceland, it is a  picturesque and scenic spot in the country. Thorsmork represents a mountain ridge, that has the name dedicated to Norse God Thor. It rises between the  Tindjafjalljokull and Eyjafjallajokull glaciers, in the southern side of Iceland. Thorsmork  definitely refers to the mountain ridge that lies between the  Krossa, Thronga, Markarfljiot rivers. Thorsmork is sometimes used to relate a very wide area, situated between Thorsmork ans Eyjafjallajokull, which is a great destination for adventures. In its valley, the river Krossa runs between the mountains. The valley is clossed by glaciers,  one which lies at the end of the valley is Myrdalsjokull. This region is enjoyed by a warm climate, more different from the rest part of the Southern Iceland. The large and amazing valley of Thorsmork is protected by law, and it is beautified by green vegetation, including moss, fern, birchwood and small shrubs.

 

 

  Thorsmork  is a great attraction among hiking. There are organized a lot of tours, that offer a spectacular entertainment from hiking on the glaciers to trekking, including many interesting excursions, which  offer beautiful destinations as the canyon Stakkholtsgja with its spectacular waterfall and its five day treks to the surrounding peaks and wonderfull summits, offering breathtaking views, where the tourists can  spend a truly fascinating trip. The access to the Thorsmork is made only by specially equipped vehicles, which are led by experienced drivers, who are born with the spirit of adventure, who take the risk to amaze the tourists with stunning views over the Thorsmork. Surrounded by notable glaciers, this place offers a great and astounding panorama and landscapes. This wide area is spreaded with a rugged nature on the green valleys, with steep mountains and adventurous river, that transform Thorsmork in the most popular hiking spot in Iceland.   Thorsmork  is a valley surrounded by glaciers and central volcanoes.
