Fantastic history

 
  The North Cape is the main point where the Norwegian Sea, part of the Atlantic Ocean gets connected with the Barents Sea, the part of the Arctic Ocean. This imposant cliff has a very interesting history, dating back since 1553, when it was discovered by the English explorer Richard Chancellor. He named it North Cape, when he passed this cape, looking for a passage in the Northeast. Since that moment the North Cape was visited by many famous explorers who climbed the steep cliff face, some famous persons who had enjoy this experience were King Oscar II of Sweden and Norway in 1873, Thailand’s King Chulalongskorn in 1907. A road that gives the opportunity to access the cape was open in 1956. Now the cape is a really exciting touristic destination. It was organized the Royal North Cape  Club in 1984, including members who have visited the North Cape. The club has the meaning to create corps of ambassadors who will promote the cape as a important touristic attraction, maintaining and preserving the nature of th region.
