   Situated in Sinaia and considered one of the most beautiful palace in Europe, Peles Palace is a precious pearl for Romanian Cultural Heritage. It was the last home for King Carol I who died here in 1914. The construction of the castle lasted from 1875 till 1883, when was officialy opened. Its history is related to the time when King Carol I came near the place and was impressed by the beauty of the nature and he decided to build an exceptional castle in that zone. Soon he bought the land and started the construction having the German Wilhelm Dodderer as an architect. The design of the building is made in a Neo Renaissance German style. The project for the castle foundation began in 1873, but in 1877-1879 because of the war  the construction of the building has stopped. Some additional buildings started to appear after the inauguration of the castle: The Guard’s Chambers, The Economat Building, The Foisor Hunting House, The Electrical Power Plant.

 
  Built in stone, wood, bricks and marble those 160 rooms have a rigid construction, with elements belonging to Renaissance German style but also some rooms are made in a Italian Renaissance, Gothic or French Rococo style with exclusive elements featuring the best character of the styles. The architects also used a variety of wood decorations, for interior and for exterior giving a spectacular virtue to the castle. Peles has seven terraces decorated with statues, ornamental vases, made from marble. The most impressionant rooms are the Big Armory Room, the Small Armory Room, the Reception Room, the French Room, the Turkish Room, the Concert Room and the Imperial Suite that fascinate everybody for their amazing style and decoration. From those 160 rooms only 10 are allowed to be visited by tourist. This palace was the first in Europe who had electricity at that time, even had an elevator, a vacuum cleaner. The rooms show various collection of carpets, paintings, sculptures, furniture, tapestries ,gold or silver dishes, that are a valuable treasure for the castle.
 
  The main entrance hall surprise with walnut tree carvings, covered by statues, creating an astounding ambiance. The castle includes a valuable collection of armouries that date since 14th and 17th century, but the most precious seems to be German armours , dating since 16th and 17th century. In the castle also attract the Murano crystal chandeliers, the ceramics, the statues, Meissen porcelain. This magnific place is like a feeric spot for exploring and discovering all the glorious moments that passed through the royal family, leaving behind an unbelievable momument of art and exquisite attractions for the next generations.
