Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens situated south from the Sydney Harbour and it is a 30 hectares of green space. The Royal Gardens are open during the year every day except for Christmas Day and Good Friday. This place dates since 1816, and is the oldest Australia’s scientific place and has a plant collection for about 7500 species. These gardens offer an exceptional view over the Sydney Harbour and Opera House as well.
The gardens are the home to the Tropical Centre, which was open in 1990, that consists from 2 glasshouses, one has a pyramidic form and the second one has arc form. This center keeps all the exotic and tropical center from around the world.
Walking in you will also find the Herb Garden, The Rose Garden, Succulent Garden and there newly appeared the garden dedicated to the rare and threatened plants of the world. It features a large number of plants from Australia and abroad. The contemporary sculptures will join exotic flora as the main attractions in the Royal Gardens. A variety of activities attract visitors of all ages and all tastes. You can choose a tour around the gardens along the pathways, or you can learn about Aboriginal history or just enjoy your time having a picnic relaxing in this exotic and exceptional place, admire the plants and the magnificent trees.
At the eastern side of the gardens is located the National Herbarium a very famous research institutions that holds different dried plants, including some species since 1770. The Botanic Gardens also include a large pond where the birds and ducks can be admired by all tourists but with the exception do not feed them.
This gardens are a real unique place where you can escape from all the trobles and enjoy your time in diffrent ways. It give you a unforgettable view and a pleasant atmosphere for you and for your family.
