Santa Lucia Beach is located in Camaguey Province, in the northern east coast of Cuba, at an hour's drive-from the city of Camaguey and about 545 km away from Havana. By air, you will land at Ignacio Agramonte International Airport, which serves the city of Camaguey; by land, the region is linked to the rest of the country by road and by rail.
Santa Lucia beach stands out among other Cuban destinations for its serenity and beautiful beaches. Santa Lucia extends on 21 km of wide, brilliant sandy beaches bathed by warm crystalline water that is calm most of the time, due to the presence of an extensive coral reef just off the coast. This reef is the longest one of its kind in the western hemisphere and it is home to a surprising diversity of marine life, being a fantastic place for scuba diving and other water sports. You can see the top of this natural beauty easily from the beach, as the waves coming in from the Atlantic break on it. You and your family should feel in complete safety, as the waters here are free of marine species that are dangerous to man.
You will feel like time is flying at Santa Lucia beach, while keeping yourself busy scuba diving and snorkeling at the coral reef, sunning, swimming, playing beach volleyball, windsurfing, pedal boating and practicing other water sports. Visiting the coral reef is a must here. Also, you can visit the Bay of Nuevitas for sports fishing, scuba diving in sunken ships, some of them dating all the way from the 19th century, seeing colonies of Roseate Flamingos and other birds at the El Real Lake, Sabinal, Romano, Cruz and Guajaba Cays, in the Sabana-Camagüey Archipelago. Also, at Cayo Sabinal you can go snorkeling, scuba diving and hiking. Besides, from Santa Lucía Beach you can go on excursions to the Cubitas Mountains, where you will have the chance to admire over 300 species of lush vegetation.
The area does not have a very large selection of hotels and that is why guests will enjoy the quietness of the place away from the crowds. You can find accommodation in 3-star and 4-star hotels, featuring over 1000 rooms, all offering the All-Inclusive plan, along with modern facilities and entertainment opportunities. It is also one of the cheapest beach destinations in Cuba.
