Café Cantante Mi Habana is situated on the upper edge of Vedado close to Plaza de la Revolución, and it is located in the basement of the Teatro Nacional. It includes a restaurant, bar, and cafeteria. Café Cantante Mi Habana is renowned for some of the best live bands and salsa dancing in Havana.
It brings only live music shows, with few exceptions, as well as comedy shows, each weekday with a unique performance. All types of music are played here, from typical cuban salsa, latin jazz, to pop and rap. Some of the best performers to play here are: David Blanco, Sintesis –known worldwide for their special blend of jazz, rock and afro-Cuban rhythms, Aceituna sin Hueso, Modeda Dura, Anacaona, Papo Record, Alfonso and others. There are both afternoon and evening shows, from 4 to 7 pm and respectively 10 pm to 3 am. The place is preferred by both locals and foreign tourists, who fill the local up till dawn. It is also said to be the most “New York-ish” venue in Havana.
