The Bahamas is an archipelago of 700 islands and coral reefs in the Atlantic Ocean, extending over a length of 800km on the clear waters of world ocean. Bahamas gave the Spaniards called - "Baja Mar", meaning "shallow sea". Turquoise waters that wash the shores are as calm and quiet and people who follow the "island time", a term that describes the relaxed atmosphere and slower pace of life. This rate is usually contagious - many islands are either uninhabited or very few inhabitants, and the wild beaches dotted with pastel shells you all the benefits you found peace.
But this archipelago has twice forthe tax size of Spain, and those who want more than isolation and silence, will find that The Bahamas is big enough to offer something for everyone - shopping in crowded markets, world class golf course on land , diving among shipwrecks and coral reefs, windsurfing and parasailing, dancing to the rhythm of the night "Goombay", "Calypso" and "Junkanoo". Perhaps this variety attracts tourists and wealthy eccentrics and the Bahamas offers a wide range of exclusive villas and luxury hotel complexes. But in the past the Bahamas was a haven for freed slaves and this includes any visitor hospitality persist today, so you are more likely to encounter houses covered with shingles than luxury resorts.
