London in United Kingdom
With 8 million inhabitants, London is the largest European city, but also the most ethnically diverse one. Almost 200 languages are spoken in London and more than 30% of the population are represented by immigrants. Despite decentralization and local vanities, London dominates the horizon of all British citizens, as the most important events take place here, as well as the greatest business deals.
Londoners’ feeling of superiority often irritates or even causes enormous resentment, but London continues to attract like a magnet, dominate and prosper. At the entry into the new millennium, the most representative buildings in London have undergone extensive renovations, but new attractions appeared as well, such as Tate Modern and London Eye.
The main points of interest in the capital of England are Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London. London's green spaces are very popular and if you come during summer in St. James Park, you will find Londoners at each step reading newspapers on the grass or just sitting in the sun lounge. In London you can go shopping at Harrods or on Oxford Street, if you want to have a cosmopolitan shopping experience.
Pubs, restaurants and nightclubs are another reasons why you should visit London. Once you are here, do not miss the Royal Observatory in Greenwich to intersect with meridian zero.
