Ryugyong Hotel in North Korea holds the record though. Burj al-Arab, or 'Arab Tower "is a symbol of Dubai. It is built on an artificial island and its foundations are moored 45 m below the seabed. It has 60 floors and 18 elevators. Burj al-Arab hotel has 202 suites. The 202 suites, all with two levels, feature bay windows offering breathtaking views of the Persian Gulf. The construction of the hotel took place between 1994 - 1999 and costed a total of 650 million dollars. The construction architect was Tom Wright. It is interesting to note that on the roof of the hotel is a tennis court and helipad at the same time.
