The Maldives is an island country situated in the Indian Ocean, which includes 26 atolls and 1.195 islets. Crystal waters, wonderful sandy and clean beaches, refreshing palm trees and great holiday resorts… Everything here reminds of absolute beauty and serenity.
Maldives reminds of paradise with its white sand beaches, turquoise lagoons, coral reserves and spectacular sunsets that simply take your breath away. The island is small but boasts fruit trees whose fruits are delicious such as bananas, mangoes, cassava. Wherever you look, you see only exotic parks, buildings designed in complete harmony with the exotic specific of the island.
You will not find on the island others than bicycles and electric motor cars, while the seaplane lands a few miles away from the island. You can make a trip to the Blue Lagoon which is located on an uninhabited island, where you can spoil yourself on the beach, bath in the ocean and enjoy your lunch in complete serenity. And if you like to feel adrenaline rushing through your veins, choose one of the most interesting activities you can do in Maldives: swimming with the whale sharks, a fish that is15 feet long.
It might be a pleasant experience as well to walk on the main streets in the evenings to do shopping, as all shops are open until 23:00 here. From your luggage to return home, there should not miss the “thudu kuna”, a natural fiber mat made by local Maldivian, and wood miniatures, called “dhonis”. However, there is a restriction: you cannot cross the border with products made from tortoiseshell, pearls, red coral and black coral.
To further explore the area, you can go on a cruise, either with your family or beloved one. Cruise ships allow you to practice water sports. Snorkeling, scuba diving and sailing are some popular activities that you can practice here. In addition, you can enjoy more activities on board. The crew will make sure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. The food offered on cruises are extremely tasty and delicious. Guests are served both traditional delicacies and continental dishes. You'll find loungers, swimming pools, dining rooms, bars and lounges –everything you need for an excellent stay.
The best time to visit Maldives is from December to April, when you will have a superb visibility of underwater universe. The period from May to November brings large waves and strong winds, which may make difficult diving in areas with coral reefs.
