Mount Wutai is located in the province of Shanxin, China and it was included in the list of World Heritage in the framework of the 33rd conference on the World Heritage held in Seville, Spain. Mount Wutai means "mountain with five terraces", which is the peculiarity of the site chosen by UNESCO.
Mount Wutai is one of the four mountains with Buddhist temples in China with a prestigious history as the most sacred place loved by Chinese people. The first temples were built since the year 60, today there are only 42 well preserved buildings, the oldest being Xiantong seven palaces and a copper bell can be heard in any part of the mountain. The representative of Wutai Temple Tayuan is a huge white pagoda in Tibetan style. Places of worship of the mountain home to more than 100 000 sculptures, paintings and Buddhist relics. Wutaishan Peak is known for strange peaks, various forms cliffs, clear springs and lush vegetation. The peaks are covered with snow throughout the year. So very hot summer weather, the Wutaishan it's cool. It is an area frequented by tourists, especially in summer.
