Morocco

While you relax in the "hammam (steam bath), enjoy "tagine” (stew) or put on the comfortable "caftan"'- Moroccan customs so intensely copied, but which do not reach the originals - you will be surprised how easily you fit in the centuries-old Moroccan culture. In these small moments of pleasure Morocco will steal your sense of time and place like a mirage in the desert.

Watching the horizon you will notice refined minarets and "Ksour" (forts) of clay bricks, soft sandy coasts and barren canyons carved in the Atlas Mountains. Morocco maintained its independence with great resistance throughout history, however not remaining immune and indifferent to ideas from outside, creating a mix of cultures, religions, and idioms. The influence of Arabs, Romans and Europeans is visible in the monuments across the country. Although you will hear French on the streets of the cities - a vestige of the French protectorate for 50 years – there are also widely used about six Berber and Moroccan Arabic languages. This makes Morocco be both Mediterranean, African, Arab and Berber.

For centuries, travelers have crossed its sands and crossed the mountains in search of mythic Morocco, expecting to be amazed by the royal palaces, unexpected oases, handicraft items and local hospitality. Modern Morocco will not disappoint you for sure. Whether you want to relax with your family in guest houses or start exploring ancient Berber villages, you'll meet Moroccans who will do everything they can to fulfill your wishes. The locals have adapted to the silence of Sahara desert and the noise from medina (old city) and have integrated into the old "mellah" (Jewish quarters) and Tuareg commercial spots. The words you will be greeted with when you arrive in Morocco are centuries old – “Ahlanwasahlan " –“You are welcome in Morocco”.

On the northern coast the weather is pleasant throughout the year, although winter can be cold and rain can occur. On beaches that are farther south the fog appears, a phenomenon caused by the desert heat and cold currents in the Atlantic. On the lower lands, the colder months from October to April are popular. It is nice and warm during the day (30 ° C) and cold at night (15 ° C). Ski season lasts from December to March. Peak tourist season is between mid-June and September.
