This bridge looks like it never ends for a cable bridge whose construction has made great efforts. Special measures were taken to protect a local species of birds. Over three hundred species of this family have been relocated to allow construction of the bridge.

 
  Vasco da Gama Bridge is the longest bridge in Europe with a length of 17.2 km. Of these, 10 km are over the river Tejo. It was inaugurated on April 4, 1998. The bridge is located near the Park of Nations and has acquired the name in the same year you were celebrating 500 years since the arrival of Vasco da Gama in India.
 
  Bridge is very robust and was designed to withstand an earthquake five times stronger than in 1755, which devastated Lisbon.
