The Deccan Odyssey is considered as one of the subcontinent’s most luxurious trains. This Luxury Train journey takes the travelers to the most splendid tourist destinations of Maharashtra.
It starts its interesting journey from Mumbai and travels to Sindhudurg - Goa - Kolhapur – Aurangabad, Ellora Caves - Chandrapur with Tadoba Wildlife Sancturary- Wardha-Jalgaon- Nashik and then back again to Mumbai.
The journey lasts like 7 days and starts on every Wednesday from Mumbai CST. The seasonal tours take place every year between October to April. This spectacular blue limousine on rails is a piece of work, the widest discovery of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation. The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation operates and maintains this luxury train, while the Indian Railways takes care of it between October to March.
The train makes its trip mostly at night so that passengers could relax and arrive fresh next morning at the next destination. The train includes 21 coaches, 13 of which are passenger cars hosting 8 people per coach, a conference car, two dinning cars, two generator cars with luggage store, one staff, spare car, a spa car, and a beautiful bar car.
