Hallgrímskirkja, whose name could be translated as "Church of Hallgrimur", is a Lutheran church in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. With a height of 74.5 meters, the church ranks fourth among the highest architectural structures in this country. The church was named after the national poet and clergyman Hallgrimur Pétursso (1614-1674), author of the poetry collection "Passion Hymns (Hymns on the Passion). Architectural design of this stunning church belongs Guojon Samuelsson and dates from 1937, and its construction lasted 38 years.
