A gorgeous and spectacular masterpiece appears at 35 km from Suceava considerated the ‘’ Sistine Chapel of the Orient”. The Voronet Monastery has a small church with a tower designed in a Moldavian style with a very big fresco, called “The Last Judgement”, on the Western façade that makes it famous and recognized as a very precious cultural monument. This majesctic pearl of Bucovina feautures a Moldavian vintage style made in beautiful colors that during the day shine and make the clear blue color of Voronet to be well known in the world as the Great Red color of Rubes. The interior design dates from the period when Stefan The Great was the ruler here, having as a model the Byzantine and Ghotic style including austerity and sufficient paintings with exceptional expressions.
The monastery still preserves the initial form, standing on a stone pedestal with a imposant tower on a square base, that emphasizes the immensity of the building. The exterior appears in a very exquisite design with the most beautiful artistic composition representing the Last Judgement , that is a unique painting in entire world. It is exclusive for its dramatic intensity and for its rich imagination used to create this magnific piece of art.
Nearby the church is situated a small wooden hermitage that belong to Daniel Sihastru during the time when Stefan the Great was the ruler and came to this person for advices and some help. The church Named St.Gheorge is a small one, with 25 meters length and 7,7 meters length appears the nave. This miraculous building is included in documents starting with January 1472. The harmonious painting relate in a warm way the image of sweet moldovian women represented by angels revealing the pure faith that the inhabitants had.
