Tristan da Cunha represents a island archipelago placed in the Atlantic Ocean. It is recognized as the most solitary place in the world. Its neighborhoods can be named the South Africa and America. This teritory is controled by the British authorities, beeing attached in 1816, primarily by Saint Helena. Tristan Da Cunha is the person who first discovered the island and this place was named after him. The Tristan da Cunha islands assimilated the British currency, symbols and it is directly governed by the Saint Helena’s Governor.
The archipelago population is about 300 people. There are known just 7 surnames, which complete 100 families. The fact that are no new citizens accepted there, caused the formation of families with relative links. This influenced on the population’s health level. The main educational institution is the School Saint Mary. The main activities are the fisher spots, agriculture, and manufacturing. The islands are connected to the world by ships, it means that the only way to reach the Tristan da Cunha archipelago is by ocean. This makes the place more difficult to find and to visit. The archipelago is divided in four areas: the Tristan da Cubha island, the Inaccesible island, the Gough island and the Nightingale island.
The Nightingale island was firstly called Broken Island and is the oldest of archipelago’s islands, with keeps volcanic rocks from million years. The island ruins represent just a small part of the Tristan da Cunha archipelago. The Inaccessible island is a volcanic island which became a World Enheritance, due to its selected land and sea bird species. Tristan da Cunha is an active volcanic area, which originate from a magma hot-spot of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The first eruptions occurred about 3 million years ago from the deep ocean floor.
The Tristan da Cunha islands offers a variety of accommodation services and facilities to its visitors and guests. There are prepared special nice guest houses, sea view lodges, with are totally equipped. It is a wonderful place to visit for those who want to enjoy the quite village life, to know more about the farm activities, to visit unusual places. Also, there are some really romantic places perfect for lovers and families. Such an extravagant journey is not for everyone, so be careful when you plan a journey to Tristan da Cuha islands, because it will surprise you with its fabulous nature, adventurous trips and really relaxing atmosphere, but also will fatigue you with a long trip and solitary places.
