  It is situated very close to Ecuator and because of this is very hot and the rainy city in the world. It is a very industrialized area, based on technology but there also are poor inhabitants that live almost separate from this world. The Government made a lot of improvements in its infrastructure to attract tourists, by promoting the eco-tourism. A very big part of the city is covered by the rainforest that are favorable for nuts, berries,  and fruits. In those forest grows a very popular berry-Acai berry that is very useful for health.

  Through the main attractions of the city it is the Rodrigues Alves Wood-Botanic Garden that is situated in the very heart of the city. This fantastic garden includes 2500 species of plants and animals, some waterfalls will delight your ears with their spectacular whisper of the water.

  Another attractive point in this city is the market “Check the Weight” that was established in 1688 and still gathers a lot of goods in it. There you can buy even medicinal herbs, meat, local arts and crafts. If you feel yourself interested by the Brazilian history you can visit some magnificent places like: The Praca Batista Campos, Forte do Castelo, that will relate perfectly the past of the city.

  If you want to have some fun you can spend some time in their restaurants trying from their traditional culinary specialities. Belem is a very calm town with lovely inhabitants that will threat you with respect. The atmosphere is peaceful and this is the ideal place to visit and enjoy the time if you want to see the real Amazon town without the feeling of the danger that gives the spirit of the adventure, because you are very close to the jungle.
