Darling Harbour is situated in the very heart of Sydney and is a recreational area. During the 19th century it was the largest seaport in Sydney. Initially there was the place where were receving fresh produce and timber from Parramatta. In 1984 the Government decided to create a space for leisure, culture and business center. In our days the harbour is the best destination for leisure and entertainment where you can spend time in a lot of museums or restaurants.
One of the best attractions in Darling Harbour is the Sydney Aqvarium which is the home for a great collection of marine animals. This Aqvarium boasts 475 ft underwater tunnel from where you can admire the sharks an other species of fishes.
Walking around you can also see Australia National Maritime Museum, Chinese Garden of Friendship, Star City, Powerhouse Museum or you can waste the time in the shopping complex.
The National Maritime Museum is made in honor to Australia’s Maritime history where is a permanent number of exhibitions that relate important subjects about maritime history. The Powerhouse Museum has a form of power station. It is a science museum that concentrates its work on technology. But if you want to take a breath and relax you can visit Chinese Garden of Friendship where you can admire chinese gardens and their style.
A very famous place in this area is Star City which is the home to Sydney Casino. It also includes 2 theatres, one nightclug, a hotel and a lot of restaurants and trendy shopping outlets. Darling Harbour also includes some water screen displays that may be seen only during the evening, which are a spectacular blend of music and laser colour and images projected in the water fountains.
Darling Harbour will never let you go without nice memories , along Druit Street or just visiting Sydney Town Hall or St. Andrew’s Cathedrall. So you will spend unforgettable moments here enjoying the time in nightclubs or just admiring the beauty of this pleasant place that is unique on the world.
