Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked and mountainous country located in Central Asia and shares borders with Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest and China to the east.
Due to the well-developed mountainous area in Kyrgyzstan, the country is a perfect tourist destination for those fond of hiking. Besides the fascinating mountains, Kyrgyzstan has a lot of natural springs, many of them medicinal, such as Lake Issyk-Kul, which offers relaxing beaches in the summer as well.
The major attractions worth-visiting in Kyrgyzstan are: Bishkek - the capital city and industrial center of the country; Kyrgyz Ferghana Valley, Ala-Archa Canyon, Lake Issyk-Kul - the world second largest alpine lake, Osh. From April to June and from September to October is the most pleasant time to travel to Kyrgyzstan to the lower-altitude areas. July and August are the best months to visit the mountainous area, while December to April is the skiing season.
