Ireland is a country located in north-western Europe, occupying most of the island of Ireland, the second largest of the British Isles. It is separated from Britain to the east by the North Channel and Irish Sea, and to the south by Saint George Channel. The southern and western coasts have access to the North Atlantic Ocean. Ireland's single land border is with Northern Ireland, a province of Great Britain, located in the north-east. The capital and largest city here is Dublin.
Tourism has become a great source of income, visitors being attracted by the variety of landscapes and cultural-historical set of objectives. The most visited sites here are the capital city and its surroundings, especially Howth, Malahide, Dun Laoghaire, Greystones resorts; Irish Riviera, along the southern coast (with numerous spa resorts), Killarney National Park in the south-west, with beautiful landscapes and castles.
If you choose to visit Ireland in July and August, you will enjoy the pleasant temperature, the daylight that lasts longer, and you can choose among a lot of those festivals to participate to. Spring and autumn can also be a good time to travel, as the main tourist attractions escape the crowds of summer.
