The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts houses one of the richest art collections in Russia and it is conveniently located in downtown Moscow, few steps away from Kremlin and the Red Square. Pushkin Museum is the second largest museum of foreign art in Russia after the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg and the largest museum of European art in Moscow.

One of the most beautiful buildings in the world, Museum Pushkin in Moscow was built in 1898 at the initiative of the royal family. On 31 May 1912, the museum was officially inaugurated during the Emperor Alexander III, being initially subordinated to Moscow University. The current name "Alexander Pushkin" was given to the museum in 1937 in honor of the centenary of the poet’s death.

The art works in the Museum of Fine Arts Work "Alexander Pushkin" are displayed in six imposing buildings in Moscow, including exhibitions dedicated to antiques, as well as impressive galleries of private collections. Today, the museum houses valuable collections, from paintings signed by Botticelli, Cranach, Rembrandt, Degas and Renoir to Cézanne and others. Also, in the museum there can be admired impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces, owned by Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Matisse and Dufrénoy.
