Ramadan
The month of September in the Arab world is transfigured in the Quranic canons required by the holy Ramadan fasting. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, being the month of fasting as well and it is the most important Muslim festival. The previous month is called Saban (it is the month of birth of the Prophet Shia Lailatu barā'a him), and the month following Ramadan is Saval.
The ninth month of Islamic calendar, it is the month of repentance and sacrifice, when it is celebrated the period during which the prophet Muhammad received the revelation of the Quran. For about 30 days, adult Muslims must fast from dawn until after sunset. This means abstaining from food, drink, smoking and sexual relations in that period. Passengers, pregnant women, breastfeeding women and patients may delay the post and will take it later. In this month, considered the time of forgiveness and mercy, Muslims must not lie, offend and curse. Islam establishes the fasting as a means of purification, an exercise of self-control and an indication of faith.
