   Varanasi, formerly also named Benares or Banaras  is one of the oldest cities in the world still in existence, named one of the seven sacred cities of ancient India. It is owned by two gods-Shiva and Annapurna. For Hindus, Varanasi is one of the most holy cities. Their belief is that feeds the myth of dying in Varanasi equivalent release from reincarnation cycle and acquisition of state of full happiness, nirvana.

   According to the tradition, the two tributaries of the Ganges, Varun and Assi, which framed the river, arose from the body being the primary course beginning the world. Therefore, Varanasi is considered the holiest place on the Earth. Through sacred values which are invested by rich Indian mythology, Varanasi is the very center of the universe, the axis mundi, a place where the space and the time are abolished or merged, allowing communion human divinity.
