Hohenzollern Castle is the ancestral seat of the princely family and formerly reigning German Imperial House of Hohenzollern. It is located in Baden-Württemberg, between the towns of Hechingen and Bisingen. The hilltop castle is located on the 855-meter high, isolated and prominent mountain peak of the Hohenzollern. The origin of the castle dates back to the Middle Ages, being built in the 11th century, then completely destroyed in 1423 and reconstructed in 1461.
