Peyto Lake in Canada
At a height of 1860 meters, Peyto Lake dominates the landscape in Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains, Canada. Water comes from the Peyto Glacier which melts in summer. Due to its very green water color, the image appears frequently in the lake or illustrated atlases on Canada. Water color is given by a fine rock powder that comes from melting glaciers in the lake. The name bears the name of Bill Peyto, a trapper and a tour guide who lived at the end of the XIXth century.
