Marmorkirken

Dedicated to St. Frederick, this beautiful baroque church, built of very expensive Norwegian marble, began to be built in 1749. The works were stopped between 1770 and 1874 because of budgetary restrictions, the sanctuary was completed only in 1894. Around the church are statues representing more than 16 religious leaders from Moses to Luther, and a series of sculptures depicting major Danish pastors and bishops.
